Australia Kachin Christian Fellowship’s thanksgiving opening ceremony

It is pleased to inform that by the grace of our heavenly Father, Australia Kachin Christian Fellowship (AKCF) has recently granted a church for Sunday worship service. Therefore, AKCF had a thanksgiving opening ceremony for the new place on 11 December 2011.

In order for AKCF to be established, a lot of gratitude goes toward continuous prayers of AKCF members, families and friends. In November 2009, AKCF was established in Melbourne. Since its establishment, AKCF worship service schedules had been taken part at Kachin family homes. In recent year, Kachin migration to Australia has been increasing and also in worship members. Currently there are around one hundred Kachin in Melbourne, including children. Since many people could not fit into one house it started getting inconvenient. For that reason, starting in mid-2011 AKCF decided to look for a place to worship. After a few months of praying as from November 2011, St Philips Lutheran Church in Tarneit, Victoria warmly welcomed AKCF to share their premises and allow us to worship there. By the grace of God AKCF have this opportunity. This testified that God listened to our prayers.

Formation of AKCF is to have worship service in Kachin, and to maintain Kachin cultural worship and deliver it from generation to generation in Australia.
