Kachin Association of Australia (KAA NSW) organized a “Candlelight Vigil for the Kachin Victims of Burmese Military Attacks and Prayers to end the Humanitarian crisis” on 22nd January Tuesday, 2013 at Hyde Park (north), Sydney, Australia from (7:30PM – 9:30PM). Approximately 250 people attended the event from the Kachin community, Karen community, Mon community, local organizations such as ABSDF, JACDB and Burma Campaign Australia (BCA) came to give their support.

Kachin together with Karen and Chin ethnics of Burma gathered in Canberra on January 7th, 2013 to protest against Burmese Army’s ongoing attack on Kachin ethnic. Demonstrations were held in front of Parliament, Burmese Embassy and Chinese Embassy. Around 130 ethnic people of Burma participated and expressed their condemnation and asked international community to help resolve the crisis.

On April 5th, 2012, Kachins living in Australia held a demonstration to protest against ongoing offensive action by the Burmese army and to raise awareness on severe human right abuses committed by the Burmese government and its army towards the ethnic Kachin people in Burma. A similar demonstration was also held in the United State, England and Japan.
